Shenzhen Foreign Trade Import and Export Situation in the First Quarter of 2018

In the first quarter of 2018, Shenzhen's import and export volume was 676.59 billion yuan, an increase of 21.7%, accounting for 10% of the country's total import and export value over the same period; of which, exports were 358.64 billion yuan, an increase of 7.9%, accounting for 10.1% of the country's total exports; 317.95 billion yuan, an increase of 42.4%, accounting for 9.9% of the country's total imports during the same period.

From the perspective of trade methods, in the first quarter, Shenzhen ’s general trade imports and exports were 327.07 billion yuan, an increase of 26.3%, accounting for 48.3% of the city ’s total import and export value, and its proportion increased by 1.7 percentage points compared with the same period last year, of which general trade exports increased by 20.4%. Trade imports increased by 33%. The import and export volume of processing trade was 220.84 billion yuan, an increase of 30.1%, accounting for 32.6%, an increase of 2.1 percentage points from the same period last year, of which processing trade exports increased by 25.1%, and processing trade imports increased by 38.8%. In addition, the import and export of special customs supervision methods were 125.96 billion yuan, an increase of 27.3%, accounting for 18.6%.

From the perspective of trading partners, in the first quarter, Shenzhen's import and export to Hong Kong was 146.16 billion yuan, an increase of 10.4%. During the same period, imports and exports to ASEAN were 96.27 billion yuan, an increase of 40.9%; imports and exports to Taiwan Province were 66.15 billion yuan, an increase of 51.6%; imports and exports to the United States were 60.97 billion yuan, an increase of 9%; imports and exports to the EU were 59.57 billion yuan, an increase of 5% . In addition, the import and export to South Korea was 39.6 billion yuan, an increase of 41.2%; the import and export to Japan was 30.06 billion yuan, an increase of 0.9%; the import and export to India was 9.56 billion yuan, an increase of 19.6%; the import and export to Australia was 8.16 billion yuan, an increase of 1.6%; Import and export to South Africa was 6.23 billion yuan, an increase of 20.3%.

In terms of export commodities, in the first quarter, Shenzhen exported 283.97 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 14.7%, accounting for 79.2% of the city's total export value; of which, mobile phones were 44.07 billion yuan, an increase of 60.9%; lamps and lanterns were 6.55 billion yuan, a decrease of 20%; flat panel Computers were 4.58 billion yuan, an increase of 2.3%; LCD TVs were 4.23 billion yuan, an increase of 20.8%. During the same period, the export of major labor-intensive products was 38.42 billion yuan, a decrease of 16.6%, accounting for 10.7%, of which, textile and clothing decreased by 20.1%; footwear decreased by 16.1%; furniture decreased by 11.9%; and toys decreased by 8.8%. In addition, the export of precious metals or precious metal jewellery was 3.29 billion yuan, a decrease of 20.5%.

In terms of imported goods, in the first quarter, Shenzhen imported mechanical and electrical products of 255.74 billion yuan, an increase of 49.9%, accounting for 80.4% of the city's total import value. Among them, the largest integrated circuit scale was 116.49 billion yuan, an increase of 65.2%; LCD panels were 7.68 billion Yuan, an increase of 2.5%. During the same period, in terms of imports of livelihood goods, fresh and dried fruits and nuts increased by 49.2%; meat and miscellaneous meat increased by 0.9%; medicines decreased by 11.8%; and food decreased by 10.3%.  shippers transport
