Introduction of port classification
Professional dock
Compared with a comprehensive terminal, a terminal dedicated to the loading and unloading of a certain fixed cargo type and flow direction. Such as: coal terminal, fertilizer (bulk or bag) terminal, oil terminal, container terminal, etc. It is characterized by relatively fixed terminal equipment, easy loading and unloading mechanization and automation, high loading and unloading efficiency, large terminal throughput and convenient management.

container terminal

A terminal dedicated to container loading and unloading. It generally needs special loading and unloading and transportation equipment, a wide yard for container transportation and storage, and a container freight station for sorting supplies and disassembling containers. Because the container can form a standardized unity of various complicated cargo and packaged groceries, large-scale specialized equipment can be used for loading, unloading and transportation, ensuring the quality of cargo loading and unloading and transportation, and improving the efficiency of loading and unloading at the terminal. Therefore, all countries in the world attach great importance to the grouped and containerized transportation of general cargo.

Shipper's Wharf

During the transportation of raw materials, fuels, and finished products, factories and mines along the rivers, rivers, lakes, and seas, in order to reduce backloading and short-distance transportation, and reduce product costs, are usually close to the companies, and their own companies build docks. This kind of professional terminal is called the cargo owner's terminal.

Oil terminal

A professional terminal for loading and unloading crude oil and refined oil. It must have a certain fire safety distance from ordinary cargo terminals and other fixed buildings, see "Oil Port". The general characteristics of this type of terminal are small cargo load and relatively simple loading and unloading equipment. When the oil tanker is not large, the general portable type of terminal can be adapted. Due to the large-scale offshore oil tankers in modern times, due to the characteristics of the tanker's high resistance to wind and waves and deep draft, the requirements for stable berthing conditions are not high. There are currently four deep-water terminals for loading and unloading crude oil, namely: single-point mooring, multi-point mooring, island-style dock and trestle-style dock. The first three types generally do not have wind and wave protection structures. Whether the last type is equipped with wind and wave protection structures depends on the layout and local conditions.

Comprehensive terminal

Also known as General Terminal. A wharf capable of various cargo handling operations. General-purpose loading and unloading machinery and equipment are used, generally loading and unloading groceries. This type of terminal is highly adaptable and is more suitable when the cargo type is unstable or the batch is not large.
