In the first half of 2019, Guangzhou Port has completed a total cargo throughput of 30,712,700 tons, an increase of 9.12% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, the domestic cargo throughput was 238.4116 million tons, an increase of 10.02%. Foreign trade cargo was 68.701 million tons, an increase of 6.09%. In the first half of 2019, Guangzhou Port's cumulative container throughput reached 11.135 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%. Among them, domestic trade containers were 6.816 million TEUs, a year-on-year decrease of 0.78%; foreign trade containers were 4.3164 million boxes, an increase of 16.59%.

By the end of August 2019, Guangzhou Port has opened 215 container routes, including 109 foreign trade liner routes and 106 domestic trade routes; 135 container routes opened in Nansha Operation Zone, of which 103 foreign trade liner routes and 32 domestic trade routes. Continue to promote the construction of inland dry ports. At present, Guangzhou Port has 36 inland port offices in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, and Shanghai.
