21 April 21st is the first anniversary of the establishment of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone. According to Zhang Ying, the person in charge of DreamWorks Division, as of the end of 2015, DreamWorks had set up 124 entrepreneurial teams, of which 59 were from Hong Kong and Macau. In terms of financing, more than 60 projects received third-party financing last year, the highest of which amounted to RMB 700 million.
Why can so many young people from Shenzhen and Hong Kong come to DreamWorks to start a business? Mu Rong Zhihui, assistant chairman of the board of directors of Qianhai Houde Venture Incubator, said that Houde Incubator has incubated more than 30 projects in a year, one-third of which came from Hong Kong. At the Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone Exchange Symposium held in the afternoon, Wang Jinxia, spokesperson of Qianhai Administration Bureau, presented the report on economic development of the Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone in the past year.
Wang Jinxia said that in 2015, the Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone realized tax revenue of 17.4 billion yuan, an increase of 63.61%; contractual foreign investment reached US $ 21.778 billion, an increase of 210%, accounting for 77% of the city; the actual utilization of foreign capital in the Qianhai block was 2.23 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 34.23% of the city; completed 30.8 billion yuan in fixed asset investment in the whole year, equivalent to the total of the previous five years, an increase of 75% year-on-year; China Merchants Group also achieved the goal of doubling its main operating and asset indicators in advance.
During the reporter's questioning session, a reporter asked whether the new customs policy implemented on April 8 would affect the Qianhai Shekou area? Yuan Zhixiong, director of the Bonded Port Management Division of Qianhai Administration, replied that the implementation of the new customs policy declared the end of the duty-free era, but only the increase in the cost of consumption of some commodities, which has little impact on the whole. On the positive side, the new customs policy encourages cross-border e-commerce to work on profit models, supply chain selection and management, and to create a fair market environment for cross-border e-commerce.
