The General Administration of Customs' Announcement on the Temporary Storage of Passenger Baggage and Objects Temporarily Not Released will be implemented from June 1.
Luggage is not "held" by customs. The five types of temporarily stored items are: passengers cannot pay taxes on entry goods on the spot; entry and exit items fall within the scope of permit management, but passengers cannot submit on the spot; entry and exit items exceed a reasonable amount for self-use, according to regulations Those who have not completed the customs declaration formalities or other customs formalities; those who have doubts about the attributes and contents of inbound and outbound items need to be identified, identified, and verified by the relevant competent authority; other luggage items that will not be released temporarily according to regulations. The announcement also clearly states that if one of the following cases is not permitted for release, the customs may require the passenger to handle the return procedure on the spot, or hand it over to a relevant professional institution for processing, and the expenses incurred shall be borne by the passenger: flammable and explosive; poisonous It is not suitable for long-term storage such as fresh, perishable, and ineffective; other situations that cannot be stored or should not be stored.
According to the introduction, announcements are not applicable to entry and exit methods such as postal delivery and express mail.
